Instead of having us talk about ourselves, why don’t we see what our clients have to say.
A Rockland data-center dispute reported by NY1 shows why power demand is a local issue. The state is reviewing how large new loads connect and how costs should be assigned. DPS: September 17, 2026 large-load review
That does not establish a household surcharge from a particular project. The approved O&R increase is already concrete. Your next step is a comparison of solar production, grid credits, installed cost and backup for your own home.
Your roof can produce electricity your home would otherwise buy. Roof condition, shade and annual use determine what solar could change. Start with your address, then compare production, installed price and remaining utility costs with our team. Want backup too? Tell us what must stay on.
Make power at home. Keep the essentials running. Compatible solar and battery controls can power supported loads and recharge storage during daylight outages. Start with your well pump, refrigerator, internet and heating controls; the design determines coverage and runtime. Tesla: solar recharge and Powerwall during outages

Your home comes first. We use Aurora to design around your roof, shade and electricity use. Planning an EV or electric heating? Include it now. We’ll show the equipment, expected production, installed price and grid costs that remain. Already have solar? We review its inverter and electrical layout before recommending a battery.
Up to $11,250 in upfront NY battery incentives for qualifying homes. The Inclusive Storage Incentive pays $450 per approved usable AC kWh, up to 25 eligible kWh in an approved design. A qualifying disadvantaged-community address is one eligibility route; other routes use income or affordable-housing criteria. Project, equipment, funding and utility-program requirements apply. The incentive reduces your project cost in the agreement; an inquiry does not reserve funds. Check NYSERDA’s live funding dashboard.
Make incentives part of a clear proposal. Qualifying solar at an eligible New York principal residence can receive a state tax credit of 25% of eligible costs, up to $5,000. It is nonrefundable; unused eligible credit can carry forward for up to five years. Storage funding is separate and depends on the actual project. Start with the electric utility printed on your bill, then the roof, shade, condition and annual usage. A county name alone does not identify your tariff. We compare a home-specific design and installed cost with the grid energy and charges you would still pay.

Eligible exports earn credits, but the rules depend on your interconnection date and tariff. O&R distinguishes older annual cash-out arrangements from newer Phase One carryover rules. Newer eligible systems also have a monthly Customer Benefit Contribution. We explain the account’s treatment before presenting savings.

Review Solar Against My O&R Bill
Yes. O&R’s New York application requires the technical design and equipment documentation, alongside applicable local permits and inspections. A contract or completed installation is not utility permission to operate. Existing solar and storage additions need the correct application scope too.

Yes, when those loads are included in a compatible backup design. Pump starting power and simultaneous demand matter as well as battery energy capacity. Solar can recharge storage during suitable daylight; weather and consumption affect runtime. Tell us what must stay on.
Tesla: solar recharge and Powerwall during outages
O&R’s New York battery program lists Tesla, Enphase and FranklinWH partners; exact models still need review. If you already have a generator, include its model and transfer equipment. Supported FranklinWH controls can enable generator charging; Tesla describes a separate arrangement in which the generator does not charge Powerwall.
