Cut the cost of solar. Add backup. Put New York incentives to work.
Make your utility bill the reason you act. New York’s average residential electricity price was 63.3% above the U.S. average in July 2026: 29.90¢ versus 18.31¢ per kWh. Your own rate and solar savings will differ. Start with your roof, your bill and your home’s backup priorities. (8)
Going solar? Compare the solar discount, battery discount and eligible incentives in one itemized proposal. Already have solar? Review a battery upgrade. Review My October Solar + Battery Offer.
Offer details: Solar and battery discounts apply separately to the respective qualifying prices before government incentives; they do not combine into a 50% package discount. Your proposal identifies the comparison price, qualifying scope, discount, incentive pass-through and final contract price. The $11,250 storage maximum requires an eligible approved 25-kWh usable-AC system at the $450/kWh Inclusive Storage Incentive rate. The separate solar credit requires qualifying expenditures at your New York principal residence and is not upfront cash. (2) (5)

Only 19% of the current standard Rest of State block remained in the latest October 5 refresh. NYSERDA’s dashboard showed $940,650 left from the $5 million block at $200 per eligible AC kWh. That is 18.813%, rounded to 19%; about 81% had been submitted ($4,059,350). (1)
The next listed standard rate is 12.5% lower. The next Rest of State block pays $175/kWh instead of $200/kWh—up to $625 less at 25 eligible AC kWh—and was not yet open in this snapshot. (1)
Higher incentives have a separate funding pool. In the later October 5 check, the $450/kWh Inclusive Storage Incentive had $9,170,550 remaining; Con Edison’s standard $250/kWh block had $5,553,175 remaining. These are alternative rates. The 19% figure describes standard Rest of State Block 1, not all statewide funding or the separate ISI/Con Edison pools. (1) (2)
Get your eligibility and design review moving now. Funding changes with applications. A consultation or signed sales agreement alone does not reserve an incentive. Check My Current Battery Incentive. (2)
New solar + storage: take 30% off qualifying solar and 20% off qualifying batteries, then apply the incentives your project qualifies to receive. Solar systems below 8 kW are included in the solar offer. Produce electricity at home and add backup for the circuits you want running. Your proposal shows each discount and benefit separately.
Already have solar: use the 20% battery offer to add backup to a compatible system. Kasselman customer? We start with your system records. Installed by someone else? We review the inverter, electrical layout and available records. (9) (10) (11)

Your solar keeps working during an outage—with a compatible solar-and-battery backup system. Your panels can power backed-up circuits and recharge the battery while sunlight is available. Backup time depends on production, stored energy and the loads you run. (9) (10)
Choose the refrigerator, well pump, heating controls or other loads that matter to your household. We check running and starting power before recommending Tesla Powerwall 3, Enphase IQ Battery 10C, FranklinWH aPower 2 or aPower S. Build My Backup Plan.
20% off qualifying batteries, plus eligible NYSERDA incentives. Up to $11,250 in upfront NY battery incentives for qualifying homes. Requires an eligible approved design with 25 usable AC kWh at the $450/kWh ISI rate; funding and utility requirements apply. Pair compatible storage with solar to power selected circuits during outages. (2) (9)
Your home comes first. We use Aurora to design around your roof, shade and electricity use. Planning an EV or electric heating? Include that in the conversation. Your proposal shows expected solar production, installed price, remaining utility costs and the selected backup loads.
Already have solar? We check compatibility before quoting the upgrade. If you want generator integration, tell us the make and model: compatible FranklinWH configurations need the appropriate controls and generator module. Generator charging is not a feature shared by every battery. (17) Talk Through My System.
Start with your October discount: 30% off qualifying solar and 20% off qualifying batteries. Solar systems below 8 kW are included. Your itemized proposal shows the applicable comparison price and discounted contract scope before government benefits.
Battery storage: up to $11,250 toward a qualifying project. The maximum is 25 eligible usable AC kWh at the $450/kWh ISI rate. The incentive reduces the customer’s project cost in the agreement; NYSERDA pays the contractor after completion. It is not a check issued when you request a quote. (2)
Your address may qualify you for the higher rate without an income test. A designated disadvantaged-community census tract is one eligibility route; other routes use income or affordable-housing criteria. We check your address, selected equipment and utility requirements. (4)
Solar: a separate tax credit of up to $5,000. New York’s credit is 25% of eligible solar expenditures for a qualifying principal residence in the state. It is nonrefundable, with unused credit carried forward up to five years. It is not an automatic battery-only credit. No federal homeowner 30% credit is included for a new 2026 installation. (5) (6) (7)
The October offer is 30% off qualifying solar systems and 20% off qualifying batteries, with eligible New York incentives shown separately. Solar systems below 8 kW are included. You can request a new solar-and-storage proposal or a battery upgrade review for compatible existing solar. Each percentage applies to its own qualifying price; the two discounts do not add up to 50% off a package. Your proposal identifies the comparison prices, included scope, discounts and incentive estimates. Review My October Offer.
A home in a designated disadvantaged-community census tract has a geographic eligibility route that does not add a household-income test. Other households may qualify through income or affordable-housing criteria. Address screening starts the review; equipment, project and utility requirements still apply. (2) (4) Check My Address and Eligibility.
No. It combines up to $11,250 in storage incentives with a separate solar income-tax credit of up to $5,000. The storage benefit is passed through in the project agreement. The solar credit is nonrefundable, requires eligible solar costs at your NY principal residence, and may be carried forward up to five years. Both components must qualify independently. These government benefits are separate from the respective 30% solar and 20% battery discounts; they are not all one cash rebate. (2) (5) (6) Get an Itemized Solar + Battery Review.
Often, yes—with a compatible inverter, electrical design and backup controls. We review Kasselman installations and systems installed by other companies. Existing equipment, previous incentives and whether this is a new storage installation or later expansion affect the plan. (2) (9) (10) (11) Request My Battery Upgrade Review.
With a compatible solar-and-battery backup system, yes. Solar can power backed-up circuits and recharge storage when sunlight is available. Ordinary grid-connected solar without the required backup equipment generally shuts down during an outage. Runtime depends on sunlight, stored energy and the loads you use. (9) (10) Design My Backup Priorities.
No. NYSERDA uses approved usable AC capacity, and the selected system must meet the program and utility’s size and equipment rules. The $11,250 maximum corresponds to an eligible approved 25-AC-kWh design at $450/kWh. Model names or battery count alone do not establish an award. (2) (22) Check My System and Incentive.
Yes. Solar can reduce electricity purchases; it does not eliminate every utility charge. Your roof, usage, utility tariff and export-credit rules determine the result. Battery storage adds backup capability; any bill-saving strategy needs its own calculation. Compare My Solar Numbers.
Some configurations can. Compatible FranklinWH systems support generator integration with the required controls and generator module. We need your generator make, model and electrical layout before promising how it will work. Generator charging is not universal across Tesla, Enphase and FranklinWH products. (17) Review My Generator + Battery Plan.
No. A complete, accurate application establishes the applicable rate; NYSERDA approval establishes the award. Funding changes with submissions, and application requirements must be met before interconnection. Start with the eligibility and design review so the correct application can be prepared.
