Three rate steps have taken effect. Another permanent decision is still ahead.
*The PSC’s 600-kWh residential examples listed $6.47 in November 2023, $5.98 in May 2024 and $6.90 in May 2025: $19.35 in combined monthly plan steps. This is a sum of published examples, not measured growth on every household’s bill. PSC: 2023–2025 NYSEG and RG&E residential plan steps
You don’t need to wait for another decision to price solar. Start with your address and usage, then compare the installed cost, expected production and remaining RG&E charges.

THE KASSELMAN LEGACY. SINCE 1948.
Kasselman Solar · NYSERDA Platinum · Enphase Platinum
Kasselman Electric was founded in 1948; Kasselman Solar in 2014. Today, our NYSERDA Platinum Quality Solar Installer and Enphase Platinum Installer credentials sit alongside a dedicated in-house service team. Choose a team to support the system after installation. Kasselman Solar is committed to providing quality customer service and we believe that your solar panel installation should be worry free. That is why we provide innovative solar energy technology installed by highly trained professionals. Energy efficiency often requires making major lifestyle changes but going solar shouldn’t interfere with your daily routine. That’s the Kasselman Solar guarantee.
To ensure continued satisfaction after installation, we provide customers with the most popular and advanced monitoring systems from SolarEdge and Enphase. These cutting-edge solar monitoring systems can provide alerts directly to the customer once fully set up, ensuring you're able to identify any issues that may occur and reach out to our service team as soon as possible.
Know which incentives belong in your price. We review current program rules, qualifying equipment and available funding, and show eligible incentives separately in your proposal.
Your proposal identifies the equipment warranties and workmanship coverage that apply to your system. Our in-house service team supports you after installation, with service scope confirmed for your equipment.
Instead of having us talk about ourselves, why don’t we see what our clients have to say.
Local reporting covered June’s temporary increase, while the permanent decision remains pending. DPS: current electric rate-case status
A temporary rate step does not fix future supply costs or your household’s usage. Solar gives you a way to generate some of the electricity you need. Compare that option with a real project price—not an assumed future rate increase.
Your roof can produce electricity your home would otherwise buy. Roof condition, shade and annual use determine what solar could change. Start with your address, then compare production, installed price and remaining utility costs with our team. Want backup too? Tell us what must stay on.
Your roof can do more than reduce grid purchases. With compatible storage and backup controls, solar can keep producing during an outage and replenish the battery during suitable daylight. Tell us which loads must stay on so the design reflects their power needs. Tesla: solar recharge and Powerwall during outages
RG&E’s current storage-program partner list includes Tesla and Enphase. We review exact equipment, size and enrollment before attaching a program benefit to the quote. Existing panels from another installer can be reviewed for a supported upgrade. RG&E: Energy Storage Solutions Enphase: IQ Battery 10C third-party solar support, August 10, 2026
Your home comes first. We use Aurora to design around your roof, shade and electricity use. Planning an EV or electric heating? Include it now. We’ll show the equipment, expected production, installed price and grid costs that remain. Already have solar? We review its inverter and electrical layout before recommending a battery.
Up to $11,250 in upfront NY battery incentives for qualifying homes. The Inclusive Storage Incentive pays $450 per approved usable AC kWh, up to 25 eligible kWh in an approved design. A qualifying disadvantaged-community address is one eligibility route; other routes use income or affordable-housing criteria. Project, equipment, funding and utility-program requirements apply. The incentive reduces your project cost in the agreement; an inquiry does not reserve funds. Check NYSERDA’s live funding dashboard.
Make incentives part of a clear proposal. Qualifying solar at an eligible New York principal residence can receive a state tax credit of 25% of eligible costs, up to $5,000. It is nonrefundable; unused eligible credit can carry forward for up to five years. Storage funding is separate and depends on the actual project. No. The PSC’s 600-kWh comparison shows an original $33.01 monthly request and a $3.65 temporary approval. The permanent case remained pending on October 5, 2026. We can compare solar without assuming the original request becomes your future bill.

Yes. Solar can reduce purchased electricity, while customer charges, applicable public-benefit charges and any remaining grid use still belong in the calculation. Export credits depend on your tariff and system history. We use your actual account rather than promise every exported kWh becomes cash.

Review Solar Against My RG&E Bill
The address is the starting point for roof conditions, local permits, service availability and the utility connection. We then review annual use and the electrical scope to price the project. An online estimate starts that conversation; the final design and installed scope determine the proposal.
RG&E: distributed generation and interconnection
RG&E reviews the distributed-generation application and technical documents. Local authorities handle applicable permits and inspections. Adding storage can change the approved electrical configuration, so an existing solar connection does not automatically approve every battery upgrade.
RG&E: distributed generation and interconnection DPS: New York standardized interconnection requirements
Yes, with the supported battery, inverter and backup controls. Solar can supply selected loads and recharge storage during suitable daylight. We size for what you need running, including starting power, and explain how weather and consumption affect the available backup time.
Tesla: solar recharge and Powerwall during outages
No. RG&E currently lists Tesla, Enphase and SolarEdge partners, and publishes a 25-kWh system-size limit. The exact model, system size and enrollment need confirmation. A different battery may have a valid installation path without a verified route into that payment program.
RG&E: Energy Storage Solutions
Eligible projects can have separate New York solar-tax and NYSERDA storage benefits. The state solar credit requires a qualifying New York principal residence and is nonrefundable. A battery-only upgrade does not automatically qualify for it; new 2026 installations cannot use the former federal homeowner credit.
